I am new to affiliate stuffs and I read the terms and conditions in general that spamming emails and re directing the link etc are not allowed and will be banned etc. My question is.........if I go to a website and buy traffic, would that considered as spamming? Theortically speaking, I do not think so, because they will know that they are there to click and make money anyways and I am not spamming or bombing the emails on purpose. My main strategy is even though they may click just to earn a few dollars, I am hoping after out of say....1000 uniques and they click it and looked for a few seconds and maybe stop for a while and think "hey, that looks good, I will go for it or buy for it". It's pretty much like upselling, I suppose but still, I dunno if this is allowed practically as I am not forcing them to click on it Any experienced or definate answer will be appreciated Cheers
Well this depends. When you say "buying traffic" does that mean buying a link on relevant sites that direct to your site? If yes, then that shouldn't be a problem. The problem comes in when someone starts spamming forums, blogs, sites etc. with their affiliate links, which would definitely be frowned upon.
Traffic is not only from Spamming but traffic can be spamming ! Some of the Mail Listing,Blogging,Forum Posting etc are considered as spamming. So why can you try another methods
Most sites that let you buy x,xxx of target or untargeted traffic are worthless; most of their traffic come from bots. I would advise that you never buy traffic in this manner. Instead by a link on an established site.
Buying traffic is good only for boosting your Alexa rank. It doesn't convert and it's not allowed by many PPC companies.
Like has been pointed out, it depends on what you mean by "buying traffic". If you but traffic from AdWords or some other PPC system, then no problem. If you buy it from some lame "100,000 visitors for $5.00" deal, then the traffic quality is low and you would probably not like the results.
Hi there Sorry, i didn't make it specific before, yeah, i meant "100,000 visitors for $5.00" deal such as www.trafficg.com Would that be considered as a spam provided I post out the direct link???? No re direct link or anything as I am not a technical expert anyways. I just wanan make sure it's legitimate Cheers
depends on the source of the traffic. I think most of those offers are pretty weak but I haven't tried them. some of these produce fake hits using bots.
Well, in my world, spam is content, not traffic. In short - TEST. Redirect them to an affiliate offer and send several thousand people there and you'll know whether it's worth your money or not. Personally, I wouldn't bother.
It's not spam, it's just stupid. Actually, I'd rather go to the store and buy cans of spam rather than buy traffic like that.
If you have a website on the web then you have to get some links somewhere so people know about it. You can do this by either purchasing links, advertising, etc. Now buy advertising is not spam as it will be going on the site that sells it. Buying traffic packages however for like 10,000 uniques for $9.99 is not worth it and is against all or should be against all CPM ad networks TOS and most probably a lot of other affiliate programs, if it means using a lot of their bandwidth.
Alright thanks And also, I am aware that email spamming is not allowed, What about personal signature by putting the website or banner in the email, is this considered as spamming? I hope it is not as we are not forcing them to click? Becuase i never heard the condition about putting banner on the signature email would be a spam or not whether it would be sending the email or when replying to them?
I don't think buying traffic is spamming. I use urlpointing.com, autohits.dk to get more exposure, true it does not work very good but still it works to some extent.
