    Basically it is on a merchant by merchant basis. You need to read the rules for the merchant you want to purchase from and normally it will tell you there. If it does not state and you really want the discount, I would recommend asking the merchant first. Some companies encourage you to purchase from your own links while others will not pay for those sales. It always best to ask first to prevent any problems with your future relationship.

    Actually I do the same before I pitch anything. I like to test. It's always a loss of money for you and a gain for them, but you gain valuable information on the product your marketing.

    Just buy it! You get paid. CJ don't give a toss as it drives up their conversion ratio on which the account managers get paid. Done it loads of times

    The majority of programs on CJ are not managed by CJ, but are managed in-house or by a third-party ad agency. Many in-house managed programs do not like to pay commissions on sales made by the affiliates themselves - primarily, this is an issue with web hosting companies because the payout is so high & margins are so low after paying commission. Otherwise, you're probably ok.
