What are your opinions? Back 2 years ago it was relatively easy to buy links for new sites and get them a quick boost. Now though it seems as though most links on the link sales pages are trash, and Google isn't weighing them much. Is it worth the money any longer, or should one work with natural link building by creating link bait?
obiviusly go with natural link building, still in this pr update and back link update google had counted links which was bought.

If your niche is competitive you must buy links for top rankings. Just be careful, buy links from related sites. Keep in mind in-content links are the best. Avoid footer links, link clouds, anything too spammy, etc.
I still think buying links is worthwhile, but you and the seller need to be low-profile and avoid exposing the URLs.
i say its till worth the trouble and the money. I get lots of traffic from paid links. Newcity Paid-Ads.info - Get paid to click! 20+ Ads everyday! Join and earn!
it is worth it if the site on which you are buying links does not openly specify that it sells links. I mean many blogs write in their blog rolls something like 7$/month to get links here and all the stuff. They are not worth buying into coz google will find out about them in next update and just ban. buying and selling of links is beneficial only if it is kept confidential and doesnt look spammy.
My worry with buying links would be that A) the links aren't appearing in front of a relevant audience and B) the site linking in gets sandboxed or something for selling links. The only way you'd find out is noticing a sharp drop in traffic, I guess... Then again, I'm new so.. lol
i think link bait is the best option now but if you are going to buy link, you need to buy it for long times (like 1 year)
Link baiting primarily works if you're capable of sending vast amounts of relevant traffic to a site and that site actually monitors their incoming traffic, is that right?
I wondered about that, too! Any one method overused tends to irritate the search engines, other site admins, etc... Hard to keep up with all the evolution, isn't it?
