I am looking to start a brand new site that has a competitive market of 400,000 sites and was wondering if it would help me to either buy a brand new keyword rich domain or buy a brandable already Page Rank 4 domain. Has anyone here had experience with this?
well if that brandable domain is a real live website and is targeting the exact niche that you are after and also already having great rankings, then go with it, however if it's just some domain with pr and nothing else then choose the keyword rich domain.
NO the domain has no website up and it has 1000 backlinks with a Page Rank 4. I was just thinking that it might be quicker to rank high since the domain is established.
There are so many things that you need to consider before purchasing an existing domain. - Domain age, The longer domain age, the better value you get for your money. - Any penalty Getting a penalized domain can flush your money away. It is just trying our luck for penalty removal from search engines. - Fake PR Check the validity of pagerank. There are some ways that we can fake PR these days. Hope you aware of it too. - Backlinks (is it all from one domain or similar IP) Usually, domain sellers have links pointing from other sites that they owned to get increase PR. Once sold, the backlink will be removed. So, it may lead to PR drop in next PR update.
I would go for new keyword rich domain. However you need time. But you can place to #1 after time passes.
