Is buying a lot of unique domain names worth it?

I've been on the web forever and can come up with names that you would be so suprised aren't taken yet. For example: OnlineGamesPlace.com - I registered this one a little while back. My question is, is it worth it? Will these names ever come in handy for any reason at all? What do you think?

If I can be honest, I don't think the domain you mentioned is worth that much. It is too long. So I don't think this would be a good strategy. Perhaps others will weigh in with a different opinion.

Well if you see that the #2 most popular thing on the web is of course... games, or online games, then you have a domain name for the 'Place' of the #2 most popular thing on the web. With that said, I think this domain name is definitely a keeper. That's how I see the greatness of that name. But my original question was.. will good domain names ever come in handy for any reason?

If you find a good domain, it's worth registering. If you don't really want to use the domain for anything, why buy it in the first place?
