It depends on how established your website is. If its a new site getting hundreds of backlinks will cause problems.
Definitely yes, just be sure you choose high pr blog sites to comment and make your comment relevant the post.
Exactly. I guess most blog sites are moderated. That way blog commenting for the sake of leaving links will be moderated. Otherwise, most of the comments are crappy. The downside is you have to do blog commenting manually. It's kinda tiring and if you don't know anything about the subject, you have to research.
One also needs to take into consideration the niche. If your blog is on women issues and you go and star commenting on technology blogs, the admins of those blogs are likely to delete your blog link or altogether mark your comments as spams.
It's just as easy to submit to digg, reddit, stumbleupon etc. etc. Blog commenting was good 10 years ago... do you know anybody with a decent site that spams blogs? or a person that has credibility? Noooo... because it doesn't work.
blog commenting is one way of a backlinking. if it was in the same niche, it will affect your web good thing ~add traffic that is
Blog commenting is definitely a good option but make sure you use it wisely. Note: make sure its done only manual, and niches are also being considered...
Lots of people are always posting crap on the comments section of my blog and unless they makes sense and pertain to the article I delete them in two seconds. I assume anyone else would do this as well. So if you're going to post a comment with a link just make sure you are actually contributing to the quality of the blog and not just trying to get a link in.
As far as you post some valuable/genuine feedbacks on comments the blog commenting will be good, otherwise the comments will be marked as spam.
Except these links don't hold a candle to a quality comment on a PR1 or higher, DoFollow post. There's more to commenting than spamming your link at thousands of random blogs.
I've got so many Google backlinks of my sites from blog comments (I can prove it). So It shows that its still effective.
It is. In fact, it is one of the most effective linkbuilding methods. Just choose a quality and do follow blog. Don't comment on a spammed blog, I think search engines ignores it.
hi, blog comments work to some extent. it won't make you achive top place in serp but it helps you to diversify ur links. also u can use this as your 2nd tier backlinks (think of web 2.0 or article directories as your 1st tier)
Hey everyone, just a question. If blog commenting is good, is it possible that it can work on your disadvantage too?
