For me, it is okay if the comment is relevant. Otherwise, it's unethical.

It is alright as long as your comment is relevant and enhance the blog with additional quality information.

Any artificial method of getting links are unethical but not black-hat. Since we are trying to get links artificially it is unethical. But if our intention is to contribute and let others know I am, it is ethical.

It all depends on opinion. I don't think that its blackhat, but I suppose it could be considered unethical. Providing that you post a legitimate, non-automated comment, I think you're in the green :)

I don't think its a black hat SEO because you encourage someone to write a good article. But your comments should be meaningful. As i see that your all comments not get approved by the author.

If the comment is irrelevant and if you spam alot of blogs..then yeah...most likely it's blackhat.
Otherwise if it's relevant and a good quality answer, it should be ok. Just aim for more natural looking comments :)

It's kindof spammy more than black hat. If you're trying to create a legit site I would stay away from including keywords in the anchor text for blog comments. But that's only my 2 cents.

Blogs have nofollow links in their comments by default. If the blog owner went to the effort of making them dofollow, he clearly wants to trade good content for links. Automated stuff and short comments like "nice post" don't add anything to the discussion and probably won't be approved.

Now, would the search engines approve? Probably not.

I think it is BH if the comment doesn't make any sense.

Let us just make a scenario. You have a blog and you wanted your blog to be
spam free. Your blog is about seo, sharing techniques and the updates. Then
suddenly one of the visitor put a comment "wow gold!" what will be your reaction
to that then? It was considered as pure spamming.

hm... sometimes you just can't resist the temptation because there are many great do-follow blogs that are in right niche and you just couldn't waste a chance) that is why such commenting is "grey" )

    Automation = Black Hat
Genuine comment on topic w/keyword = Gray Hat
Genuine comment on topic w/Name = White Hat

IMHO, but I can't lie I do comment with my keywords more often then not!
Any why don't all wp blogs just install KeywordLuv, its really the best plugin ever made!
