Actually its not a good idea.. its a non professional act..tell me how many top blogs have spammed in comments at other blog???? No one

Why wasting time to comment at blog. just put that time to put content at your site..so that more content leads to more listing at SEs and rankings

I agree with you on one part. If you don't have much time, you should concentrate on your own blog and content. And I haven't seen the guys behind problogger, copyblogger and Entrepreneurs-Jouney leave many comments on other blogs.

... but before your blog becomes really popular, I think it's an important way to build backlinks and to grow your audience.

... and even with a very popular blog, and when you're famous, it's always awesome to get the comments. I still remember some of the comments on my blog from "famous" people :)

Are we talking to only top blogs? Of course, new blogs need backlinks to start and to let other people know about their new blog..

What will you do with only content without any backlinks? Do you think you will rank in SEs with just content? What's the use of your content if nobody will be able to see it?

Non professional act? Blog commenting is a way of interacting with other bloggers. How boring will it look like without comments and how will you know what people think of what you wrote?

    What's non professional with that?

You can have awesome content, good seo and not get much traffic. Why? Because bloggers and blog readers like a community feeling within blogs. Otherwise it appears that your blog is only a gimmick to make money.

    Thats just my two cents.

I don't really think its a good strategy, unless you comment and answer to a lot of comments and make yourself noticeable on the blogs.

I agree that you won't always get some traffic by blog commenting but it is a great strategy to build backlinks.

More backlinks = higher SERPS = more traffic

I haven't read any other replies on this subject, but I am going to tell you from the back that blog commenting has it's place (for SEO) but the traffic you will get from it will be minuscule. Use it for backlinks, but in the sense of commenting for traffic, I think traffic is a bonus.

Ugh. Again with seo and backlinks.

Posters here need to stop mimicking, and think for themselves.

Can anybody here give some sites as examples???

    Anybody???

Bringing in 2 people a day can be considered "traffic." So, yeah.

Bringing in mediocre traffic? Like, say, 100 a day? Nope. ... Not even close.

Examples? Almost all new sites, begin with blog commenting to build backlinks.

This is one of the easiest way to earn endless supply of one way backlinks.

I agree, that you may not get much traffic from it but there are some times that you may.

Um, not all sites are new.

    Of course it is.

Getting them and them working to the point where the site lands high are two different things.

if you're fast, and comment on very popular blogs like problogger and copyblogger, you might get "a lot" of traffic.

I have experienced to get 10 - 20 visitors during the first hour after I left the comment.

Would it be a bit over-the-top to have the username you use to comment on blogs be the domain of your site? I don't really see any other way to get it out there unless you manually add it to the bottom of every comment you make.

And if you use automated blog comments posting software, you can attract even more new visitors. Sure, comments should not be crap...

Blog commenting can be a source of traffic. I wouldnt go as far as saying its exceptional traffic. But, if you post good relevant comments and not just "great post keep up the good work" but actually add content to the blog then I would have to say yes it is good for traffic. I perfer forum postings as to blog commenting. Want to streamline your bookmarking and link building try traffic bug...

You can check Blog Comment Poster + Comment Poster (this one is designed for image galleries, works great with various affiliate programs)

Why? You don't know anything about blog commenting. We don't need to be a spammer. Blog commenting menas we are helping to add a value to post. At that time we can get a favor with a link for us.
That's not wasting time, link building is a big subject.

    Thanks
    Blog.

Ask a question then answer it?

I blog comment quite frequently but only on related projects. Most comments just get buried and are not used. If you are not one of the first commenting it's likely the link will not do you any good as it gets buried and not crawled.
