Is Blog Commenting a Good Strategy to Earn Traffic?

If the blog has a lot of traffic, you can get a few clicks. Dont just post a comment like 'nice blog' or 'great post'.
Participate in the discussion and contribute. Reply to messages that you have got and promote the blog post where your comment is published.

 

blog commenting is a waste of time... only 20% of old blogs accepts comments..

 

Not unless you're seen as an authority figure and the blogger recognizes you.

 

Waste of time? that is if gaining valuable backlinks and some traffic is a waste of time for you.

 

I paid for commenting on 2 occasions and it didn't help at all. In fact, my domain almost got labeled as a spam site my Akismet.

 

IMO one of the best way, forum posting about your site is bordering spam, but blog commenting and leaving a site, is like leaving an address, its a polite, and extremely Effective way to obtain backlinks.

 

Gaining valuable backlinks is okay only if it is do follow and related niche and generally the traffic from blog comments is low to almost negligible. But there is no harm in doing that if you have time.

 

It shows some-what that the site is active.

I can reccomend hiring some one or doing a comment exchange.

There is nothing wrong with blog commenting, the problem is that most people just want to spam high quality blogs instead of respecting the blog owner's wishes by adding something that will help others. This is why so many blogs have gone nofollow. If you would just read the article and give a solid comment about the topic then there is no reason why your comment should not be approved. And who care if the blog is nofollow or does not allow you to use the anchor of your choice, you should be happy that you are even allowed to post a comment.

To many people focus on getting backlinks from blogs that only use do follow, but what they fail to realize is that the ones with nofollow are most likely the best. Why? Because these links are still counted by google and other search engines, just because there is no pr value and ranking value does not make the link no good. The truth is that it is still a valuable link from a trusted website and therefore you will still get some kind of credit for it. I'd keep those things in mind before I'd say that blog commenting is a waste of time.

 

You will not be marked as spam by akismet if you only leave good comments. If ever you've been marked as spam by akismet, you can just contact them and they'll remove it if you have a valid reason.

Very true, in blog commenting, you'll learn a lot of new things while reading others articles and you can also leave a good solid comment if you finished reading the whole article.

In the end, you will not only learn new things but also will surely get a backlink by leaving a good comment because good comments will surely be approved by the moderator.

Most bloggers and their commentators are always willing to lend a piece of advice that helped them, and will often visit your page to give their own personal review. Usually they'll let you know what may not be working for you, whether it be layout or content/niche.

I strongly agree with hotbizsol. If you post comments on blogs, don't post stupid messages like 'I have found your blog yesterday while searching for SOMETHING, and I must say it contains interesting information'.

Yes, it's a great way to earn traffic but you better focus on the more powerful blogs such as highPR .com or .edu. Edu by far holds the most weight. Don't pay any money for software apps. Use a free tool such as http://www.edublogfinder.com

 

I agree that blog commenting does not bring good traffic unless your comment looks like you are the expert on the field and recognize as such. However, they do offer backlinks for you , which helps in your websites PR.

As long as you comment base on the merit of the topic you are commenting on, you will not be labeled a spam.
