and if you check again today. bing is back again.

I don't think we should discuss bing based on changes in just a few days. we need to discuss features and how the end user will like it.

I posted a blind test to Bing & google, check it out if you haven't already.

I mean if we were to have a discussion if would be best to talk about search experience.

    @drhowarddrfine
I am glad you are in this discussion because it is good to have a different view as part of the conversation

Bing is growing but failing at the same time, most of the queries on Bing turn out to be people just testing the search engine and then discarding it due to the weird manner in which it displays the results

How so? Still about half of Yahoo.
. Agree but it's been over a month after a $100 million failed advertising campaign.
We have, perhaps in another thread. Most people like the pretty picture and say little about results. I've shown two articles where results were said to be inferior in Bing to the point that Citigroup told their investors so. Now, that's millions of their customers.
    You're welcome.

Its not a lie. If you are talking about market shares thn i must say in every business people face ups and downs. Business means ups and downs.... anyways no new business can just get on top at once... it takes years and years... so dont talk about market shares here... talk about which platform is good.... bing is doing very good and getting much popularity!!

    Cheers!

Actually Yahoo! does truck loads of advertising, all such companies do. The thought of any large company doing no advertising is ludicrous, and someone thinking they don't is even more bizarre.

I'm curious--I can't locate any resources on this topic---does anyone have links to info from Microsoft about a Bing version of Google Adsense? Or is Bing not offering that yet? I'm guessing not but if there is something I'd be willing to give the old ground floor a shot. I know Bing is offering ad SPACE, but are they offering blogs a similar revenue generating model to Adsense?

    Thanks in advance...

    Joe

I think bing gives very good local searches. I have never liked google or yahoo for local searches.

Bing will never take out Google on the search engine side of things. Google has too many of the world's brightest minds working for it. Microsoft is simply trying to buy market share - that almost never works. They were able to snuff out their last Internet foe - Netscape - but Google is far stronger than Netscape could have ever hoped to become.

Microsoft and Google have declared jihad on each other. Microsoft was a software company that has tried to expand into search, and Google was a search company that is now expanding into software & operating systems. I'm not sure that any of it is good for either of them.

At least for the next decade, Microsoft will remain the top software company, and Google will remain the top search company. Neither will succeed in their efforts to conquer the others territory.

Bing can only compete with other search engines. It will never come close to Google.

I think Google's services are great and better than what bing offers, anyways too many people are attached by Google, so i personally would never renounce at Google even bing's services will be better, but this will never happen.

The script should randomly choose the search engines order, what if someone wants to search more times?

In a way BING is a threat to Google because it has captured a good deal of the US market. I believe with a little more promotion BING can get a better percentage of Google domination. It is too early to tell. Let us see how Microsoft makes future steps

the script is in random order. there is only 6 possible combinations, so it might seem that it is not randomized.

I would like to see some improvement in MSN adcenter corresponding to Bing search results.
