I am considering submitting my site to the Best of the Web Directory, for a one time charge of $299.00. I don't have any problem spending the money if it is worth it, meaning if it provides high quality backlink juice. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?
Definitely! They can do provide a strong link similar to what DMoz.org and Yahoo Business Directory is capable of giving, since the site has been there for the past decade and it's proven to be trusted by search engines. They also have high PR and fast crawl rates.
Be sure that you understand their TOS: "# I understand that there is NO guarantee that my site will be added to the directory. # I understand that I will be charged a non-refundable fee ...." If they don't like your site, they will just keep the money and you get nothing in return. Not saying that it is a bad investment, just a risky one, SY
