    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Is being in dmoz.org very important?

Interesting stuff, you go around surveying web users. Is this a hobby? How do you randomize your survey? Do you do it on the phone, web form, or do you interview pixies in your garden?

Yeah…so what you are saying is that no one sees any value in it as a directory, it has importance for google reasons, but it should change to a no follow directory which would render it completely pointless. That’s a pretty cunning business model you propose.

The two above posts just made my day.....

If you take SEO away from DMOZ then what does it become? I mean really, how many people use it to find "good" sites?

Maybe 10yrs ago, but not any more.....

Every day I nod my head in disbelief of the stupidity of people in the world, today that nod goes to nebuchadrezzar, congratulations for your moronic comment.

"Interesting stuff, you go around surveying web users. Is this a hobby? How do you randomize your survey? Do you do it on the phone, web form, or do you interview pixies in your garden?"

Actually one of the companies I have part ownership in, is one of the top 10 market research companies in the UK. Dont judge other people in the forum when you know very little about them. Keep the comments on topic and unless you receive a personal attack, try to act like an adult.

Now lets continue with a solid argument and valid points please.

And waffling around quoting some unknown unsubstantiated survey is a solid argument based on valid points?

Okay, here's my 1 cent. Which at the current conversion rate is £0.00 :)

I created a site about 6 months ago, submitted to dmoz - didn't have *any* backlinks whatsoever, somehow got the site into dmoz through the obvious 'regional' location. The page was only a PR2. But since the database has been exported by several other sites and directories, I now have around 100 backlinks and a PR2 - I've not done any promotion of the site whatsoever, but am currently receiving around 10000 individual hits per month. Can't be bad, I say.

I am sorry but I dont wish to communicate with you anymore nebuchadrezzar, I am under the impression you are very young and just being mischievous, feel free to make as many comments you like I will not reply to yours anymore.

Spider-Man, this is exacty the point I have been making but others just dont want to agree just to be difficult. I always admit when I am wrong but others will stick to their guns no matter what. The proof is in your site and many others.
