It isn't really important. Based on actual scientific polls and studies, Democrats are 10% more likely to be ignorant on the issues they are voting for. The stern video (and many others) simply illustrate the point in a humorous way.

I would personally be a huge fan of getting rid of low information voters from both parties, though the Democrats would never win another national election if we did so.

The irony. Someone who believes literally the BS from 2000 years old book and then call others brainwashed.

On the other hand, maybe brain-dead is a better term to use in this case.

The real irony is that someone who thinks the world is billions of years old has a hard time accepting written record from a mere 2,000 years ago. In the overall scheme of things that book could have been written 5 minutes ago.

There are six things factually incorrect with that sentence that have nothing to do with religion.

Guys, I seriously just went to McDonald's and got 2 Medium Mocha Frappe's and the total with tax was $6.66 here where I live. WTF the apocalypse is here!!!!

As for Barack Obama supporters, most are innocent and rely on the mainstream media for all their info. The MSM is liberal leaning, therefore the story they get is slanted to make Democrats look favorable. Conservatives get the same thing over on Fox, so I know it goes both ways. The other part of his supporters are the "takers". People who are permanent welfare recipients, people that live off of unemployment for a job. People that believe the government owes them something. These are system abusers, not necessarily the honest people that need these safety net programs. The last part of his supporters are the hipsters. These young people live in cities. Most go to college. They suffer from the constant need to be viewed as accepted and cool. Remember in 2008, when it was "cool" to vote for Obama just because he was black? Some of that transferred into 2012, but had less of an effect this time around. According to these people, it's "racist" to not vote for Obama. He is a visionary leader and will change Washington forever!!! Yay!!!

Look at the map of counties won by Obama vs Romney. ALL the rural area's are red. The cities are blue. This is true in every state. If you live in a major city you are more likely to vote for a liberal. If you live in less populated areas you are more likely to vote for conservatives. That is how Obama won. The cities are full of the hipsters and takers, and he manages to sway most of the "innocent" middle group.

Wrong again. To manage the modern farm basically requires a degree in computers. Every drivable machine has a GPS, each animal has a computer chip implanted, the amount of milk taken from each cow is logged down to the last drop, the type and lot of feed fed to each animal is logged, the type of fertilizer, seed lots, etc. are recorded for each square inch of land. This and a hundred more sensors are sent to a central computer managed by the farmer, who does a statistical analysis to determine how to get the optimal profit out of the farm. If course, there is an IT department.

qworld, it is a constant source of amusement to me how you can always be wrong in so many different ways.

Being conservative or liberal does not mean smart vs dumb. It's ideology and based on your morals and the way you perceive the world around you. Living in a rural area doesn't mean your a farmer. And the ones that are farmers are increasingly more sophisticated than the stereotypical one you are thinking of. The knowledge required to yield a profit on crops and to maintain the multi-million dollar equipment is extensive. Before you knock farmers remember that without them you wouldn't be living anywhere near the lifestyle you are. Cities were born because of farmers and the ability for a few people to feed thousands. Your very life relies on the ability of that farmer who according to you is not known for intellectual capabilities. Sometimes people forget how the world works.

I suppose when you just make up the BS, you really don´t need facts to support it.

What exactly are your sources telling us? I didn't see anything there that tells me rural Americans are stupid. I see a private fund that gives money to rural schools (the inner city schools take money from the taxpayers) and I see a link about farm workers.

Your last link is pretty funny. You realize that most farmers work for themselves. You don't need a degree to work for yourself. Why would they spend money on college? You think that just because you don't go to college, you are dumb? You have a lot to learn, and reading government websites is not going to teach it to you.

And please tell me what you would eat if all these dumb farmers stopped producing your food?

Not having a college education doesn't make you uneducated. Education is more of a problem in the inner city, where poverty breeds the scum of the earth. That high dropout rate isn't a problem in most of rural america, it is the inner cities. The moral structure is also vastly different. In rural america family and friends are your support system. Honesty, integrity, and hard word are at the core. Violent crime is almost non-existent, everything is cheaper, air is cleaner, houses are bigger, and people are happier in general.

Not meaning to go off tangent too much but I don't think poverty breeds scum. Quite often it's wealth that breeds scum. We often hear of millionaires who started life in poverty and hear of even more born-into-wealth peeps that can only be described as scum.

I believe Kids take lessons from parents, they also learn what not to do. Many see their parents are scum and decide they're not going there so the reverse often occurs. Some are never given an opportunity to shine. Wealth, more often than not makes for spoilt brats and, imho, scum.

Now, sorry for interrupting, back at it. :)

We were already off topic so no problems. I guess I shouldn't use the word scum. What I am referring to is the inner city population that is perpetually stuck in poverty. Parents continue to have kids to make their welfare check bigger. Fathers are usually non around. These poor kids have almost no chance without proper guidance. They end up involved in crime. They cycle continues. There is no doubt that some of these people rise out of poverty. I completely agree with you about parents. A strong family structure is a big advantage in life, as is having 2 competent parents that teach you values and ethics.

gworld, when I see the states on the left I cringe. The only state missing from that cesspool of socialism is California.

    Modern Marvels - Farming Tech
Starting at 1:13, the video explains the use of computerized sensors, GPS, computerized yield maps

Farming practices today hardly resemble those of a generation ago. Gone is the simple tractor and combine. Farming today is about using advanced technologies to maximize crop yields and maximize profits for the farmer. Computers and satellite imaging are valuable tools for the modern farmer.
