Is banner exchange dead?

I would like to hear your opinion on whether it's still viable to join an banner exchange to get free traffic to your site or blog, personally I still join banner exchange to get some random traffic, if not the traffic to my site will be wasted.

No i don't think it is dead. Just go on with it. You'll still get traffic

 

Although its not completely dead, in my experience the small amount of traffic you get is very low quality. There are many more ways with better results to drive free traffic. Social Media Sites, Forum Posting, and SEO are all very effective options

 

For me Banner Exchange is already obsolete in online marketing. better work on SEO way of marketing.

 

I think its not already dead just degrading.

 

I would say that any kind of link and banner exchange is dead, as it is quite well known that Google dislikes the practice and can easily spot it. So at least from a SEO point of view, it's useless.

However, as some have pointed out in comments previously, it might be worth the effort given that it brings you traffic.
