Back links never helps in traffic back links helps in increasing the PR. You have to start promoting your blog in QA sites, forums and social networks for getting good traffic.

 

If u are getting back links from good sites then they will give weight age to your website. and also i m agree with alex that the best methods to get traffic is social networking and forums sites.
