is auto responder an essential for making money onlie?

if yes is aweber the best to go for?
also I have been struggeling with traffic to my sites, so an auto responder would be pretty usless to be fair. Can you buy email list's targeted to a certain niche?

Investing in aweber would probably be the best for you as long as your content is "spot" on.

 

Why not give it a try first.
If it brings favorable returns,

Aweber may not be the best to go for because it does cost an arm and a leg, especially when you are not getting enough traffic to your site. It costs somewhere around $19.99/month. A self-hosted script may be a good idea or you can go for cheaper alternatives, like Norabots ($9.99/month).

Yes, you can buy targeted leads, if not a whole mailing list. But, rather than buying leads (which may cost some money) you can find an e-zine about your niche with a good subscriber base and advertise to them (That would be cheaper). When people buy from you collect their info. Now, you have targeted leads that 'buy' from you.
