    Actually your friends have being ban not for using AutoBlogs but because they have try to cheat Adsense problaly cliking ther own ads!

    Why would Google allow autoblogs? Autoblogs are typically horrible websites with spun content that are made soley for the purpose of generating Adsense income. The website provides no real value and is just contributing to spam...which in result forces Google to revise their algorithm.

    You could use another service? A banner service perhaps- then you wouldn't compromise your adsense but you would have to accept lower earnings!
