I just made a purchase on eBay and after i won with buy it now,i realized that seller only accepted Auction Checkout as payment method,so i had no choice but to comply with his payment type. I had to give out my debit card number on the site to complete payment, but it was under https protocol, so i guess information mustn't have leaked anywhere other than the site's database, and now the seller also knows my Debit information.Should i be worried?I never want to share my debit's information with anyone other than paypal, but this one was a dead end.
It's a legitimate company. It basically allows ebay sellers an easy way to accept non-paypal credit card transactions. As long as the seller has a good reputation there shouldn't be any problem.
Actually he didn't even accept paypal. So what's so convenient about this company?Lower fees for seller? Anyway he's got nice feedback but still should I've worried about someone having my debit card information?
There's a lot of sellers that have been completely ripped by Paypal. Paypal is also inconvenient in many ways for some businesses, especially the larger ones. AuctionCheckout allows him to use his own merchant account and still sell on ebay.
Well, unless you don't use a card, if you use it, take the risk. Plus, when you buy something at a store, you use the card, they know your card number too. I think you would better keep money at your pocket. I don't want to say this but if people just trust paypal, how can small company grow ? They are already big company, they are becoming bigger. Even I like paypal. I accept all payment processor because I know that if it's not me using the card then I will not have to pay anything.
Well big companies are the way they are because they have things to bring to the table. If they satisfy needs then y do y need smaller and lesser of something that already exists. There must be a reason that other Business should exist.
