I own a lyrics website and I have noticed ask.com sends nearly 20% of my traffic, I own 4 websites and the lyrics website I brought as it had high traffic and I don't have to do much with, and it drives traffic to my other websites but I'm wondering how come I rank well with ask.com as I dont do anything to get placement in ask.com, my other sites dont rank that well with ask either but to be honest I dont really check

No, ask.com is general search engine, that you can search for anything on web and it is not special for music.

Just seems strange how this website ranked so well in ask though?

Ask.com is the fourth largest general search engine in the US with limited presence in other countries globally. It was designed as a search engine that you ask questions to and was called Ask Jeeves (assuming that 'Jeeves' was your personal search butler) before being re-branded as Ask.com and still trying to hold onto that search engine that you can ask a question to and get an answer. So, no Ask.com is not specifically in the music search business it just happens that your site might rank well for specific terms. They do get almost 3 million searchers to their site a day, so it is possible you could get some good traffic.

I think ask.com is a social bookmarking site in search engine, that's why they found your music site there. You can publish your updates there too. Ilike.com and imeem is the music site I have known. You can stream music online there, :)

Nah, not really. It's similar to what other search engines are although it's not *that* popular.

I am asking advice and being constructive, I try to learn from others and asking advice about my website is not spam, if I wanted to spam then I would have put my link in the original post!!

Your just trying to get your post count up and have nothing constructive to say other that spammer!

    One word = Idiot

I think I will pay more attention to ask then to be honest - I thought ask was a UK based engine though!

    Thanks
