Hi, I may be like some of you in that I have hundreds of private label articles and now don't know what to do with them. Okay, maybe I'm the only one, but ... I have noticed in the last month or so that Article Directory (AD) submission services and the big Article Directories are cracking down on submissions of private label articles, even those that have been re-written for the most part. My guess is that the SE's are catching on too and do not rate pages highly when they find the same articles - just a guess. So, my questions for those of you who have successful adsense, affiliate, or other sites : 1. Is it worth it to hire someone to re-write private label articles before submitting to AD's or even putting them on your site ? Or, should they only be installed on your site and never submitted to AD's ? 2. Is it best to hire a ghost writer to write original articles instead ? I have had lousy luck with this one. I tried eLance a few times and someone from a forum and paid anywhere from $8.00 to $20.00 an article and the results were not good - I had to re-write all of them myself afterwards (for those I used). I have a day time job working for the Canadian Government (CRA), so I don't have to much time to devote to my internet websites (I wish that could change some day - the constant stress is not fun) and that's why I need someone else to write for me (most of the time). 3. Maybe it's best to not create several sites and try and write for all of them - maybe it's better to create our own products and just make a sales site ourselves - one site at a time every couple of months. I say this because I have found the adsense game and affiliate game very difficult to make any money at. 4. Is there a book out there on how to come up with ideas to create products (software, ebooks, other things)? Just curious - my mind is telling me this may be a good idea. I'm just about finished a Golf Book that I have written, because that is where I have a lot of knowledge, but I do know some other software and related things also - but I'm not sure how popular the golf book will be - it will improve a person's game, but there is so much information out there, I'm not sure who would care and how to reach those who would care. Your expert opinions are appreciated. Thank you.
I don't think that article writing is as good as what others might tell you. Writing a few select articles for specific sites can be good, but the usual article submissions can also cause problems and not be nearly as effective as they once were. And yeah, there can be problems with PLR articles too. You can often tell a PLR from an original article. Even if you can't, original articles have your own style and personality put into it, which can really show over time. I can write a decent article in 5 to 10 minutes and can probably do a better job in my niches than others, so why pay for them? That's just my 2 cents. Brian
Article marketing is a great way...just that you need to learn the right ways..as like with everything else...I don't like PLR articles and I prefer writing my own articles since you do need to pay attention to grammar and readability of the articles you want to publish and put your name on.
I'd like to share with your point 3: I actually have quite good success in having a site that sell. Mine (in the signature) are selling some soft codes and indeed, from day to day, i saw people actually buying from my site. In deed, it's a good ideas to have a site that sell rather purely Adsense. IMO.
We should look at the comparision of blogs and articles : Blogs have arrived as a means to get your message across in a personal way. Articles are usually considered to be more informative and accurate where details are concerned. From a search engine perspective, both are a great source of information. But which one to rank better? First, let's look at the value each one brings: Blogs: Timely, personal, have "inside point of view" usually updated on a frequent basis Articles: Informative, Authorative, detailed, marketing driven. From a freshness perspective, Blogs clearly win out over the articles. Exposure: Unless your blog is highly ranked, the articles will get more exposure, since there are more chances of your article being seen by more people. There are many sources on the internet that you can submit your articles to, here is a link for some: seoresources.seoforgoogle.com From a business perspective, I can tell you that articles help re-enforce what you are selling. By writing an article instead of a blog, there is a perception that more care is taken to writing an article, therefore the information contained within is worth more. People know that a blog will have a personal spin to it, whether the author is blasting a company, or promoting something that they have a personal or professional interest in. From my own trials, no one has made any purchases for any product being pushed in a blog, but instead there has a distinguishable influx of sales that can be directly traced back to an article. So what does this mean to you? If you have a product or service you want to promote, use an article. If you need to get something off your chest, create a blog. While both are thought of very well by the search engines, you're ultimate goal is to convert the user, not confuse the search engines.
If you are a half way decent writer, I would suggest using the Private Label Articles as a starting point for writing your own unique articles, or have someone rewrite the articles for you. Article writing is an effective promotion technique if you submit timely articles of high quality that are well written. Or as you stated, you may just want to have exclusive content written for your sites. If you have a blog, you may want to consider combining a mix of articles as well as your own personal commentary on the blog. Be sure to include a link to the site or page that you are promoting at the end of your article or within your commentary.
