Is Article Marketing For SEO Still Worth The Effort?

I don't think posting articles in the article directories worth much, I think now you can concentrate on posting the articles over your blog or something like that because if i talk about now ... matt cutt has already stated that submitting article in article directories for getting back links is spam.

 

"Submitting to article directories" is too simplistic.

Distributing your content will always be a viable SEO method. In addition to article directories, you can reach out to relevant blogs within your niche and offer to write a post for them, turn your content into video and build up a Youtube channel and also submit to sites like Vimeo, turn your content into Press Releases and distribute them to HEAPS of sites that way, etc.

Content will always be important, it's just how you use it.

 

if the article directories are not working then why the owners of those sites still maintaining article directories. the simple logic people still visit those sites for information.!!!

 

No article marketing isn't as effective as it use to be and I wouldn't put a lot of effort in it.
I do submit a couple quality articles to Articlesbase and Ezine only. Make sure the article site has an editorial approval process. The auto approved sites will have the spammed, rewritten, unreadable worthless articles and be of no benefit to you.

These days link diversity is more important and these two article directories wouldn't hurt. You may get a handful of visitors per month depending on the quality and subject of your articles.
