Magento is great but the code is real heavy and requires a VPS or better hosting. Here is the info from specialist: _bandaguns.com you an browse for template demo
Yep. Use Magento here. By far the best platform, although it does have a learning curve due to its many features. But I'm constantly surprised by what it can do.
I had used Magento in the past and I found it to be pretty good. I feel that even Zcart and 1automationwiz to be quite good when compared to the other e-commerce software that are available.
Magento is a modern piece of software, if you are a skilled programmer familiar with frameworks, patterns and zend then it's a good thing, if you're an unskilled hack then not so good. I like the fact that it needs good hosting - keeps the low ballers and riff raff back from using it and churning out awful hacky addons like you get for oscommerce and other obsolete carts
I tried magento but found it just too hard to use. If I had better PHP skills and a more techie mindset then I'm sure it would have been good. I also found it to be such a big piece of software.
I know someone who have used magento and he took a lot of time to understands its setup. Most people say magento is pretty good software, the only thing is it's a high maintenance. I know a site that you can use to compare magento with other software, this shopping cart software site have an information about various shopping cart like, Zen cart, Xcart, oscommerce, magento and more. Its a best place to review and compare. I of this will help.
I use it exclusively. It is the fastest way to a free, enterprise level solution. If you are serious about what you are doing it is clearly the way to go. If you need something with an easier learning curve you may want to check out prestashop. Nigel
Magento is good but if you are technically-challenged person then you have to spend a little learning curve.
We use Magento to our extensions. I can say that Magento is the best ecommerce solution I've ever used. It's very customizable and has very large community
