Amazon has been quite good to me, I've tried it on a few websites and im getting a conversion rate of about 6% (clicks to sale) They have just released a content specific set of ads, which really has made a difference to my clicks. - As previously said, you can do *amazingly* well if your website is popular enough.
- sorry just a few stats i thought i should include: This is for one day, the 27th september. Ordered items 62 Clicks 940 Your Conversion 6.60% - I estimate this would be about £30
Oh yeah, love the associates program but need critical mass (traffic) to make it worthwhile. Not as simple as ad sense and being content with $10 a month for the amount of work it takes.
I've not had much success with Amazon, the commission is only like 4% and I had a super low conversion even with highly targeted products. I make much more with AdSense
To earn with Amazon, you have to make a good niche, for exaple make a lyrics website and when the visitor get the lyrics, he may want to buy the album .
i just get some clicks but no sales...i´m thinking amazon is good for some people but for others it sucks. Just hope to start selling something
I made $143.12 in Amazon Associates since June 2005, without much marketing approaches. Most of the sales generated by those links in old pages
My major site is listed on my profile, just simply a tech blog. BTW, I seldom update these days due to heavy workload of my day job.
Hey everyone, In my experience here is what has worked: With amazon you need to find a niche. Make it one that has low cost $ products with high volume searches "lyrics" as someone mentioned or Make the niche on a high cost $$$$ category with moderate searches. Run some other money making programs on the site as well. Peace
...Unfortunatley though you cannot use the amazon content matching ads alongside for example googles adsense. Your 'earning percentage' I have found is reset each quarter aswell?
I'd say that statement is accurate, sometimes a thousand clicks would go by without a sale - a thousand clicks from adsense would generate a decent amount.
