Only professional photographers I would imagine, that get their photos out on the major photo sites on the net.
You know I've always wondered how those people make any money at all selling photo's for $1 each. I suppose they have other jobs too.
Well i do sell vectors online.. never tried photos.. i am not a photographer.. but selling vector at dreamstime and other sites do generate extra income..
One idea might be to take of bunch of "niche" pictures around a certain topic. Think: "what would people like to use in website headers / banners ect." and take pictures like that. Bundle them together as a pack, and maybe advertise them on sites related to that niche or to webmasters/graphic designers who could then turn around and use those graphics on their sites.
I would like to sell some vector graphics as well. But I don't think someone here on DP needs vector graphics. pratik, can you recommend a few market places?
I am a professional sales/marketing guy in my 'day' job. I have used Comstock professional photos in my work. Generally, I pay from $100 - $300 per photo, though you can also by a bunch of photos from them on a CD for less than that. Why do I buy from them? They have a great search capability and they tend to have professional photos that show businesspeople in various poses or 'concept' photos that help me get a business point across. Their photos are also royalty free which means that I buy one once and can use it as often as I would like. Some of their competitors charge much more and charge per usage. In the business world, time is money and if they can help me get my brochure or ad out more quickly, it is worth the small incremental expense (compared to the total cost of the project).
Sounds like a great idea, I have not personally used this method myself but I will do , sounds jolly good!
