Thinking for doing some lenses with affiliate links on Squidoo, is it a good source of traffic? if youve been using it, please share your insights. Thanks
Yes, I use them to promote affiliate links and the traffic can be quite huge. But it used to be even more popular until spammers spoilt the party and Google now looks upon it with a certain disdain. That said, if you are willing to build squidoo lens with long tail keywords, you will still see your lens ranking well in the search engines. Don't rely on Squidoo to magically give you traffic. It's like any other webpage that does well in search engine ranking. You write and publish original content. You do that, and the search engines will love you for it. People were republishing duplicate content. Google did have a love for Squidoo and seemed to rank the crap highly. Then who knows what exactly happened, but the result was it spat out all the same old same old. My original lenses with unique content... they didn't fall from grace. The big "secret" for success at Squidoo (or anywhere else in fact) is to write what you know, and write it well.
