so what is happening with this weather! rain, cold winds, tornadoes, snow on high ground in scotland, frost early morning, and we have already passed the midsummer mark!
is this global warming or just a natural change in the weather cycle? whatever the reason i am sick of it.
am jetting off to hotter climes in early august, and in sweden after that, where even they get better weather!
more floods are forecast for the weekend and already a lot of the uk looks like venice, without the good weather that is! my workplace was flooded a couple of days ago and will probably be flooded again the day after tomorrow.
as soon as i can i am going to live in a hotter country where i can dry the washing, not put the heating on in the middle of summer, and i don't have to wear wellies, kagool, and take an umbrella, every time i go out.
this is beyond a bloody joke!
if anyone out there is coming to the uk for a holiday - get a refund!

sick! they should be sick as parrots if they are currently in the uk.
no wonder blair has handed over power to brown, he is probably going to fly off to some carribean hotspot for the summer, and if he does get a job trying to broker peace in the middle east, well, he will have a damn good excuse to relocate to dubai or jordan, somewhere nice and hot!
    am really fed up!
hey guess what it just starting raining again!

It's the same in Asia too. The flood death toll in India is already in three figures - monsoons haven't even properly reached half of Indian states.

Last year Rajasthan province in India had floods.

Rajasthan is the last place where people expected flooding - it is a desert region..

that is scary sachin410, so looks like the weather is changing globally!
it was predicted that when the weather does change it could do so rapidly, something to do with the atlantic conveyor, or is it the ozone layer, any scientists out there?

Yes I too am sick of the rain in England. I am in the Lincolnshire area and the streets around me have being flooded. What is even worse is that the forecasters are now predicting even more torrential rain at the weekend.

keep us posted glendowney. we live in essex, just south of norfolk, which is one big floodplain. my workplace was flooded but our house is ok. unfortunately i work for a charity, and a lot of damage has been done which we will struggle to put right, we are insured but every day we stay away from work is money lost to us.

Lets just hope it stops soon as the damage at the minute to most places is going to cost a lot to repair. Unfortunately, it looks like this could be a regular occurance with the way the climate is changing.

It's like hell here in Turkey, news says it's been the hottest day in the last 30 years, it was 42 degrees, something like 108 in Fahrenheits i guess.

well I am loving the current weather in the UK...
Nottingham... cool breeze.. moist atmosphere... getting wet in the rain...
Come on guyz... stop criticising nature and enjoy for a while...!
I hate hot summer days in india though... 40-45 degrees in delhi... boooh!
better off with rain than scorching heat.....

I think too much is made about our weather in the UK,
It's exactly the same as it has been for decades, you get hot spells, you get cold spells, you get the odd flash flood.
Differance is the TV now cover it a whole lot more!

As for global warming, doesn't anyone remember in the 70's the big problem was global cooling?

Lol - had to reply to thisthread.
I am absolutely 100% sick of this rainy country! I think here in Manchester we've had about 2 weeks sunshine in all. Mind you - Today I just got paid to spend the whole day at work chatting, reading and writing an article for my blog because the floods knocked out all our systems - :)

As for me - I'm off back to Lisbon as soon as I can!

wow! the sun is out in essex, first time i've seen that in a while!
god i hate all you people out there complaining about the heat in sunnier climes!
but be warned you soggy brits out there - torrential rain is to return this week-end! so get out the sandbags - that is if your council have seen fit to provide any! - and move all your valuables to higher ground!
bet you canoeists are practically orgasmic!!!

Well i am going to london in a few days for a holiday, hoping it will not be all bad, maybe even fun. I have heard from a friend that it was flooded, and cars were floating down the street

no that is not true mitcharr, london is not flooded, only certain areas have been hit by floods, but london is well protected by the thames flood barrier.
also, though it might be wet when you are here (bring an umbrella) there is always plenty to do indoors in london. unlike you aussies we brits have to think up never ending forms of entertainment that can be housed indoors due to the soggy weather. so you should enjoy it.

Let us hope the thames flood barrier holds up! I like close to the river and will be truly soaked if it doesnt.

At least the sun is shining this morning:)
