Is anybody here actually using them on your blogs and making money through payperpost.com. How is the experience?
I haven't joined payperpost.com. I'm with GoldPoster now and quite happy with the $0.05 per post there!
They dont pay.. We have to pick up oppurtunities from their site... So you can pick from $5 to $1000 depending on your blog PR and alexa.. I have PR4 and so I usually pick from $10 to $15 oppurtunities.
PayPerPost is a piss poor service. They're expensive and poorly targeted from an advertiser's point of view. From a publisher's point of view it is quite difficult to get offers to fit your blog - most of the offers are like "In 200 words talk about the marvellous new search engine Zigloid and explain how it's the next Google". Some of the publisher criteria is also too strict/obscure - for example, "Please only accept this if you have a blog about Goldfish maintenance and live in Swaziland". They also ask for positive reviews, which is a bit cheeky because none of the proper paid to post services do. They also advertise their own services - a sign of desperation. The only thing in their favour is they tend to pay quite well, so if you're an unethical mercenary of a blogger they'll be right up your street! Thumbs down from CountryBoy.
I've also been doing posts in the $10-$15 range with no difficulty. The only issue i have is with the disclosure crap that some of the advertisers ask for.
I'm experimenting with PayPerPost, but I'm being very selective. I write up some posts and save them in draft mode only. Then, if an offer comes along that has a natural fit and it does not require a so-called positive review, and I don't have to include some dorky disclosure badge, I'll add it to my post. However, this means I don't take many opportunities. On the plus side, I am not really trashing my blog since my posts are still written for my site... with the addition of a small amount of text to support a naturally related link.
I have been signed up to PPP for a few months and have only taken a very small number of posts. Firstly, the number of opportunities that fit are not that high, and secondly, I flat out refuse to write a post for less than a reasonable return - to write a quality post about anything takes time and my time is worth far more than the lowball offers that are available. An opportunity has to be reasonable, the payout has to be reasonable ($10+) and I have to really want to do the post! So in something like 4 months, I have done only a handful of PPP posts. That being said, if I was really tight for money, I probably would go and pick up all the cheap opportunities and spend a couple of minutes and write a post.
I have, it worked well, no complaints. Great service and great idea. That said, I haven't used them since they started requiring bloggers to indicate that they are being paid to write an article (which I think they should do in the interest of full disclosure)
I've been using them (and others) for 9 months now. So far, made a few thousand $. Sure, there are some problems at times, but then they're inventing a whole new industry as they go along.
I'm doing the same thing...since alot of what I see there requires the writer to do all kinds of weird contortions and twists. I have made enough to pay for monthly hosting fees. I can't see how some of the other "posties" make in the $####.00 Especially since most high paying assignments require high PR sites.
I have been using PPP and others. The frustrating thing is my blog is a PR5 but not up to the Alexia standards, kicks me out of some big money posts. Cheers
I have the opposite problem of you Keith, good Alexa but a low PR3 so, I ususally get he fair to middlin posts to write about.
is all fubar'd! It won't load in IE 5.5 in Firefox I tried to create a new opportunity, got all the way thru to submit, and it spit back a page with no coding - needless to say i'd LIKE to use it but the site keeps malfunctioning. Do i need to use a different browser to get the message across?
5.5??..You know IE is up to 7 right? Also i wouldn't even bother with IE7..FF is a more smoother browser with the ability to be converted with plug-ins that you like. IMO..trash IE..
The worst thing about PPP is that their site is hell slow!! I don't understand why they cant move their site to some faster servers considering the amount they must be making...
I know what you mean - I have a 10Meg cable connection and it is dead slow for me... Just run a speed test on the site - and no wonder it is slow Total HTTP Requests: 80 Total Size: 524649 bytes ... Just because you can does not mean you should when it comes to making a web page that would even be slow if you were on the same LAN as the server!
