It's not essential, but it's certainly useful to have good feedback on how your development efforts with your site affect the various site/traffic metrics (traffic, bounce rate, conversions from different traffic sources, which pages are getting visited, etc). Analytics can also tell you about problems with your site (hits on 404 pages, etc). It's important not to get too obsessed with site stats, though. Many types of site changes will take weeks or months to bear fruit, and it can be counterproductive to worry about short term stats fluctuations.
If you are serious about the website, then yeah it's essential. You need to track your analytics if you plan on improving traffic levels.
Analytics is must if you want to measure the performance of your site, traffic and source of traffic. Google analytics is free, and even shows an overlay report where you can see where your visitors click the most. You can also set goals and optimize your conversion and sales. Go for it, I say!
I don't really know of a better way than analytics (or comparable software) to get insight you might not otherwise GET - so in that sense, it's a must. I DO think it's a must if you design sites for other people. For example - I was talking to the owners of a gift shop in my town who also have an online store. They'd only gotten 3 orders in a month and were wanting to up that. They had NO IDEA - until I logged into their Analytics account - how many people were actually landing on their shopping cart page (about 135 or so.) So obviously people were interested in ordering - but something THERE on that page was a problem.
Hello, Google Analytics is crucial for any webmaster. We all fall down into the same mistake which is judging our work based on our own system of preferences. A webmaster view to a website (especially when he is maintaining an developing) is way different from the random visitor. ONLY a powerful stats system can gives you an objective and real insight on your website! Use it to: - Monitor your features and design - Track your traffic to understand more what you need to work the most. - Have elements to make right decisions about improvements - ... To your success!
If you want to know about your webiste status then analytics is must because analytics shows your website traffic of every kind.
Analytics is really helpful to show me where I am getting my traffic from and what pages they are visiting. Google webmaster tools are also really helpful to find any issues google has with your site e.g duplicate content, crawl errors.
I would say it is not compulsory but it is necessary. Analytics show the direction of improve. Of course, it is still fine if you dont want to use analytics
I don't know why this would even be a question honestly. I cannot think of a better analytics program out there. When I say that, what I mean is that I cannot think of a more user friendly analytics program. In addition to that, why wouldn't you want analytics? It is not as though it is tough to install. Maybe that is the issue for you. Are you have difficulty installing analytics on the site. Is that it?
Hi, If you wan'ts to know about Traffic Report I Your site then you will be definitely use Analytics in your site. Thanks
ya very essential to get traffic details for the website ,from analytics you can get traffic sources like referrals, keywords from which visitors are coming , visitors map, most liked pages of the website, time stay on the website and many more.
Analytics is absolutely necessary to a successful webmaster. I don't care where you get the data from, you still need feedback regarding the behavior of your visitors to improve areas of your site that need improving and to ensure the long-term success of your web property. If I try 10 different marketing methods and my analytics report the following weekly data: Methods 1-8: 0 visitors Method 9: 7 visitors Method 10: 50 visitors I'm certainly going to focus my marketing on Method 10 and possibly tweak Method 9 because that's what the market is responding to. Analytics will also tell me what pages these visitors explored on my site and how long they stay there. If I notice a pattern such as they leave the site on the same page every time then I'm going to improve the page and plug that hole
I for once say useful. When selling my sites, people ask for analytics data. It helps me convince the buyers and help me get a good amount for selling my blog.
