I wouldn't go as far as to say that they 'suck', as such, but they're certainly much less powerful than Intel chips. You get a lot less bang-for-buck, so to speak, as well.

I have both, an Intel C2D on my laptop and AMD on my desktop.

My desktop with AMD processor crashes quit often and chokes every time I try to do a processor intensive work. On the other hand my laptop with core 2 duo is rock solid, can pretty much handle everything I throw at it.

If money is the issue then you would have to chose AMD; if money is not a big deal then it is better to go with intel.

Form your budget and then buy max for it. Job will be done no matter you’ll buy Intel or AMD.

AMD's Cache on processor make them faster at lower Ghz
Normal 1.8 AMD processor (AMD 3000+) can beat Intel 2.8~3.0 GHz processor (provided cache is same)

    easy summary from me.
If you are a gamer, go for AMD
if you use PC for working or calculating, graphfic, go for Intel.
If you chose AMD spent the rest budget on more RAM and you will be great.

    1) Laptop users should choose intel!
    2) AMD processors may look cheaper, because, lets say 3GHz Intel processor is not equivalent to 3GHz AMD, if AMD got more Hertz doesn't mean it is faster, they have different technologies.
    3) I don't understand shit in AMD processors, thats why i always choose Intel. I know that Intel processors are safer (heat-wise). And some OS's just won't work on AMD (Mac OS X)

AMD is a better choice for a gamer. Spend the rest of the money to buy a more powerful video card.

Intel is for video working, editing etc
    AMD is for gamers
    usually....
but both can be good for both works, I think you would use more intel,

How much would you invest in PC?

    Hi Ninjasoft,
I need you to see thread that I made a month ago.
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=830348
You can see there some DP friends suggest intel and others do the same for AMD. At the end I can see that AMD is the best choice if you have limited budget. If you have more money then you can buy intel. But in performance, nobody can tell the exact prove that one is better than another. All that benchmark tests result are bullshit since they are sponsored by stores. Never believe what they say.
AMD is cheap and the quality is the same with intel.
    Go for it.
I knew by saying this some DP friend will deny me, but I will not reply. AMD is the best. Bye. :)

Oh ya, I forget. I use AMD Agena X4 Phenom 9500 2,2 Ghz and it rocks!!!
