Is Amazon Affiliate My Best Choice

Discussion in 'Amazon' started by mwgr5, Jul 19, 2006.

I am creating an site with information and a forum about a specific topic. On my site, I have a recommended reading list. Is becoming an amazon affiliate my best choice to maximize revenue from people buying books from this reading list. I don't want to create my own store and I want the source people are buying from to be trusted.

    Thanks.
    Matt

Amazon provides alot of nice ways to sell books for even the simpliest html sites. Even people that are not experienced with coding can get book links on their sites to sell. For me, amazon books convert well. I would suggest you try it.

On top of that, don't put your income eggs in one basket. Explore as many means of revenue as you can that are reputable.

In addition to the books you might reference at Amazon. It's not uncommon for people to buy totally unrelated products once you refer them to Amazon's website!

That's right. Although you don't get quite as high a percent of the sale if someone does buy something other than a book or the product link they followed, if you're lucky you can get credit for them buying a higher priced item after they browse around amazon from your affiliate link.

Amazon associates program is definately a great way to do e-commerce. Not only will it pay the hosting costs, but it'll fill up your gas tank, pay the cell phone, and the expensive night on the town you've been holding off on. ;)

    Definately worth signing up for.

Recommended reading list? Then, yes: the Amazon affiliate program is an excellent option. Amazon's program has been around for a very long time, and it is therefore well-developed and trustworthy. Most won't dispute this statement: the Amazon affiliate program was the Internet's first serious affiliate program. Yep.

I agree with everyone's comments, I think it is defintiely a good program. I have only been an associate for a few months now, but over time, you will see more and more traffic come to your site, and generate more sales. Amazon has everything, so its more effective if you are not limited to what you want to post. Hope this helps!
