I stated in another thread my problem with Alexa, namely that anybody that doesn't use Internet Explorer, doesn't have an Alexa Toolbar. Doesn't this skew the ratings towards the computer illiterates that still use IE and the Webmasters that use the toolbar for their own reaons? What about everybody in between? How accurate can Alexa rankings be if nobody that uses Firefox, Konqueror etc has their traffic counted? I was looking at the browser breakdowns on the stats for one of my sites and noticed that the majority of the people actually used Firefox, yet when I tried to install the toolbar to have my surfing counted, I found out it only works with IE. I would imagine this negatively impacts certain types of sites. Just curious about peoples feelings on this, and wondering if maybe there is some methodology they use to make up for it. Also, when is Google going to create a more accurate traffic counter since they own the internet? Or when are you going to and become a billionairre?
