I don't think alexa have anything to do with google, all google considers is page rank, backlinks and unique content. Alexa helps a lot during site sales and getting approved in CPA networks
Why on EARTH would google use someone else's metric to establish positions in serps? If they want to include a traffic factor in their algo, they'll use their own sources of tracking and measuring that, not Alexa's.
This is the most weird reasoning, I have seen in many days. Google ranking and Alexa at times appear to me, to be the two poles of our earth...directly opposite to each other! Regards, RightMan
Alexa ranking is very accurate. The "myth" is that people think it's not accurate because it can be cheated. Maybe because you've seen "scripts that cheat alexa" or people that claim they cheat alexa. WRONG. You can't cheat alexa. Those "scripts" don't work. Because alexa checks IP of toolbar users every time. There use to be a time, when alexa first came out, when people did that, but that was immediately fixed by alexa. SEO position ranking is correlated to alexa rank... But NOT causal. They are not causing one another. They are just a coincidence, if you have good SEO position, most likely you'll have great alexa rank (eventually). For example, if you look at the history of statistics of the website in my signature, it directly matches the alexa ranking history of the website as well (there is a strong link). That's why the ranking is almost above 100,000. If you compare that with Alexa's competitors like Compete.com, you'll find compete.com is completely inaccurate. As a webmaster if you aren't using Alexa Sparky in your firefox, you are definitely missing out.
