Alexa is counting hits from users that download and install their browser bar. Mostly webmasters I would say. At least not the ordinary internet surfer.

Alexa ranking is based on a tool bar. Don't put to much emphases on it. Worry about your content and let the search engines do there job
There is no connection., But who knows? If there was a connection - and maybe there is - they wouldnt tell us since then it would be easy to manipulate it. I think there is at least some connection that they do not admit.
alexa ranks are not trust worthy! any one can manipulate those! but then better alexa ranks always make webmasters prowd!! anyways, alexa rank has nothing to do with google PR or serps! but then if your site get's an alexa rank of under 500, am sure google will make your PR6+ thinking your website is a premium one!
for me, alexa isn't accurate at all. my traffic is getting bigger every day and they are showing the opposite. BTW: that was my 300 post
I usually look at my server stats, alexa, google, yahoo and msn to get an estimate of where my site average is at. Great job massiva.
I believe the correct statement should be alexa data is schewed towards surfers who have the alexa toolbar installed. Most of the time, webmasters don't care about alexa but some might consider using their stats to estimate web traffic.
Alexa is not a reliable source. It only based on visitor who installed alexa toolbar. those people will not go to all kind of sites a even not my target visitors so i dont rank well in alexa. XD
Alexa is not having any meaning. I hate it, when my website comes in Google SERP's 1st pos without having Alexa ranking than why i need it.
