I'm quietly building a list here of all these people I can sue for defamation later! (Still, I suppose it's better than being called "google").
Thought I was the only one experiencing this. Glad I performed a search before starting a new thread about Alexa ranking being paused.
i don't know why alexa even there....there statistics are so bad according to alexa, one of my website has 70% traffic from India But my awstats indicates that 70% traffic is from US So, right now i don't know what to beleive...
Alexa is on its way out and has been so for years. Its just a slow process. As browsers and spyware removal tools get better, malware like alexa will slowly get removed. Its just a matter of time, but yes, spyware like alexa is on its way out.
Alexa ranking is certainly delayed from time to time. Haven't gotten an update myself since last week this time. The bigger question is who else has a comparable service? I keep hearing over and over about PR...you have got to be kidding me. I would be skeptical of any company that uses PR as a indicator of success especially Google itself has stated time after time PR is basically for amusement purposes. They never even expected folks to flock to this idea like they have. At least Alexa tries to compute data independently and fairly (although not very accurately). Google PR is anything but fair, accurate or even useful. I bet those opening their wallets via AdWords are mysteriously rank higher than sites that dont open their wallets; without any regard to site quality or metrics whatsoever.
Yes, there has been few updates for quite some time. Alexa is not a good measure of traffic anyhow, it is just another option. As it can be manipulated with various programs. Page rank tends to be quite a bit better. Regards, Brian
Did I do that in this thread? That happens when you get older. Its called a brain fart. I guess I may have forgotten that I already said that. However, repeating it is probably not bad, given I still feel that way. I could say it a third time
Don't worry about it, Mia, He does it all the time too just so he can be part of a conversation, along with just nonsense posts. But go look. ... Where in this thread did that mindless noob post in here anyway? I'm hearing Twilight Zone music again. And Alexa is on vacation. She'll be back in a couple of weeks.
Yeah, If I recall,, Alexa's Ranking system is counting the people using their 'tool bar' which is pretty inaccurate considering not everyone is using it.
Actually Alexa did update today. My site went from 268K to 167K just a few hours ago, as with the rest of my sites.
Who can provide metrics or any objective analysis that shows PangRank better? I have heard of Compete and Alexa as measures used by companies in evaluating a site but nothing on PageRank
Here you go: Amazon.com: PR 9, 555M pages indexed, 67.9M backlinks CNN.com: PR 10, 1M pages indexed, 12.2M backlinks Ezinearticles.com: PR 6, 1.9M pages indexed, 907 backlinks Monster.com: PR 8, 207 pages indexed, 1.9M backlinks So how is that Amazon.com which does 74M visitors a month have a PR 9 and CNN.com which only does 29M visitors a month have a PR 10. Amazon has more than 2.5 times the traffic and more than 50 times as many pages indexed as CNN.com but Amazon.com has a lower PageRank. Data speaks volumes!
I have IE7 and it works. I think it's not useless, I can see it some visitors from USA, it updates for me.
