Is Agriya trying to steal my money? You decide

    Backstory:
I run my site using Agriya's YouTube clone script called Channel. As the site was growing, I decided to purchase another script from them called Volume(music sharing) that plugs easily into Channel(as advertised on their page) which allows users a single sign on/database sharing experience. Channel and Volume integration was smooth and easy.

Then I decided to purchase Discuzz. As advertised on their website, it should plug straight into Channel and Volume.

Support sends me documentation on how to integrate with VOLUME but it does not mention Channel. After several failed attempts at integration I decided to let their support handle it. They quote me $19.95.

Great, so I ordered from them and my paypal is charged $19.95

Next response is this. They want $300 - I doubt Discuzz was even made to plug into Channel in the first place as advertised.

    BS response from support.

I doubt i will get my $157.95 back.

Oh yes. I know it very well.
I had so bad experience with agriya.
It was similar to your case. I bought anova but they never said that the other modules are not update. So i needed to pay developers extra to update the moodules i bought.
    Very money greedy company.

    Not to recommend!!! BEWARE!!!

Agriya is one of those companies that makes software that is to good to be true, they are not a scam. They have unique scripts, and interesting clones, but the problem is they look good in the demo, but are coded poorly, break and everything has expensive addons, and most definitely there support sucks. They always try and hook you into paying more money, buy buy buy. They dont produce quality bug free products, but mass produce scripts so to fast, and without making sure they have all the kinks worked out. I also notice they manipulate/hide real reviews of their products on there website. They ask for reviews, but only post ones that are positive about there product on there website, this is a very dodgy thing to do.

I have Anova and finally when i realized Agriya was going to keep milking me for money/support/templates and overall not going to just provide me with a quality product to begin with i just scrapped the concept and took my $300+ loss. They have some very high end ($1000+) scripts now, and i wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. THey have great idea's but these guys clearly dont build scripts that will help you become profitable in your business. I might even accept the bugs of the product but they also Encrypt the scripts so that limits my ability to have my own programmer modify code.

Bottom line, this company tries to up-sell and get every dime out of each customer billing itself as a high quality product, the problem is there product is not nearly as high end as the price they ask. They need to make sure customers are happy, and the bugs are out of the product before they move on to a new one.

If you visit there site you can quickly find out one of the major flaws with this company is they make a new script every other week, the problem with this is they never focus on fixing/making the existing scripts work the best they can. They constantly email me to buy the new products they make and they have some tempting looking scripts, but these are all only good for visual appearance not functionality, ..

-Nice presentation but the product will break
-They always want more/more money for addons
-Expect support to be useless unless you pay them money

I used there script to help speed up development of a site, but now, and in the future I would rather get a custom solution made by my programmer before buying a product from Agriya because I want it to actually work.. Perhaps if they didn't encrypt the scripts i could have a programmer fix some of the issues, but without that,, pretty useless..
