Is Affilate Programs where it's at?

I come across eBooks all talking about it and how profits are brilliant if you do it right, but is it really worth putting more time and development into affilate programs rather then concentrating on web-projects? Or about the same? I have design experience, could that help me a little more?

If anybody could share their experiences or opinions, I'd appreciate it. Tips on where and how to start would be great to! :)

Earn something like $20 per sale, or get pennies per click. Make up your own mind :)

If you do end up working with affiliate programs then you will have a major advantage against a large majority of other site owners on the web. There is a high percentage of site owners that do this sort of thing that has not got a clue how to code a site.

Ahh I see, so commonly, people who use Affilate programs tend to just have affilate program experience?

No most people start with adsense, then realize how much they're losing by not monetizing their site properly with affiliates.

I agree with Mr X. I realised that too and quickly shift my interest to get more knowledge into affiliates program. While adsense is easiest effort, it also bring in least income. Read report of 'Death of Adsense' will shed some light on it. But don't stop marketing adsense, just be more diversified.

Mutiple streams of income from clicks, leads, sales, and residual income helps maximize the income from my site.
