I had Adwords running yesterday ...for $2.55 a click. At the end of the day I had 11 clicks from adwords all which averaged a big fat 00.00 Avg. Time on Site. Take a look...

Are they ripping me off, or is it competitors clicking on the ads?

This was for my website Web Hosting Reviews

Either way ....I won't be doing that again.

BTW I had the content network turned off, so this was straight from the search engine. notice how long MSN search engine people stay on the site.

If having 11 clicks scares you, adwords isn't for you.
    11 clicks is negligible.

No, I have run adwords in the past for some of my other sites on spent as much as $1,200 a day. That was over two years ago. I sold all my websites and went on a webmaster vacation for two years.

I am building new sites now and noticed this and was just wondering about it. So it doesn't scare me, it just puzzles me.

Its not that the visitors actually spend ZERO seconds on your page.

Google Analytics can only tell the time a visitor stayed on your site if they actually click a link on your page...

Ie. I could go to your site, leave the page up for 12 hours, and it would show 00:00:00.

See this Google groups thread for more info.

:D LOL you me laugh. I can just imagine someone in a Hawaiian Shirt sitting on a beach somewhere in Panama with a laptop and cocktail..."a webmaster vacation"

I find Google to be quite good in terms of correcting low quality clicks. I know I can look forward to refunds every so often for Click Quality. So I am sure Google is not ripping you off. Analytics isn't all that trustworthy for low traffic sites and is known to stuff up.

I was thinking about doing this, I would like to earn money to at least make my website run on its own, and would love for it to become profitable. I have google adsense click ads and amazon affiliate along with gamefly for my website.... would paying for google create enough traffic that it would possibly pay for itself with the ads I have in place? The above $1,200 a day would kill me and my website dreams. I have yet to make any money from google or amazon. No one clicks my google ads, and I know of only one person to make several purchases from Amazon.. and its not even close to the $100 I would need to receive my first check.

google deals in very good way with fraud clicks and gives back credit to advertiser. so don't worry about fraud clicks
