I can only speak for my sites and it didnt work for my sites - well it actual did bring in money but it was costing more then what was being spent and the traffic didnt increase that much more ... I have heard a lot of others that say it works for them - so who knows till you try it for yourself

yes it works, it depends to the landing pages (are the landing pages have high convertion or not) and the keyword you bid, is the precentation the people who bid that keyword will buy the product?

adwords is really worth it especially if your site is practically new and you wanted to get noticed early. Aside from that, it gives you targetted traffic.

Adwords will give you targeted traffic IF your ads and keywords are targeted to match the content of your site. If you try and trick people into thinking you have something that you don't then you will not succeed. Make sure that the clicker knows what to expect before he clicks or else you are wasting your money. Is it worth it? YES! Targeted traffic equals more conversions.

it it was not good, people would not advertise on it and Google would make no money and close the service.

As far as I am concerned, it all depends on your work. A good campaign needs a good manager or site owner that knows what he's doing. The right keywords, the right ad with a great landing page is the basic secret for success. All the rest is how to manage your campaign.ing

Some of my clients stopped advertising in other medias since Adwords work fine for them.

Difficult to say for sure without knowing your business. Adwords search network is great for businesses looking for customers who are 'actively looking' for their services. The content network works well as a form of advertising to attract the attention of targeted prospects who were not necessarily looking for the business's services.

I have clients who only use Adwords and we have doubled their business with it. I have seen other businesses who couldn't make the ROI work - costs too high vs the sales they were getting.

Adwords, like any other advertising venue, it not an independent solution. When you ask "does it work", you will get several different answers because the aim may be different. Will it bring you traffic? Yes probably. Will it bring you targeted traffic? That depends on your selection of search phrases used to trigger your ad. Will it result in conversions? That depends on how well your site sells to the visitor after they arrive. Is it cost effective? That depends on the cost per conversion, if it costs you less than you profit for a single conversion then yes.. Adwords is worth it, if it costs you more per conversion than how much you profit then no... Adwords is not worth it, it may take time to fine the perfect ad triggered by the best keyword phrases to bring you the best targeted traffic.

You need.. good keyword research, a site that can convert and a landing page that quickly communicates the aim of the ad in adwords, and a good adgroup that will entice search engine users to click it.

I started Ad Words last week and was really disappointed. Possibly I didnt quite grasp the concept. My traffic increased slightly, but I was spending more than I was making on Ad sense and my other affiliates. I may try it again. Facebook is another one I am toying with. Especially since you get a free coupon when you sign up on that Visa Business program.

Great advice here. I have been reading constantly trying to get an idea on what I was doing right or wrong.

There are a lot of newbies asking questions about how to succeed with Adwords and a lot of good advice being given, but I think that most of the advice is missing the first step. Before even thinking about an Adwords campaign, you must have a site that converts visitors. Once you have a site that is converting, then you can start advertising it on Adwords. Once you are there, you must test different ads, different landing pages, keywords, etc. The bottom line is that you need a site that converts first or else you are throwing your money away.

20% depends on your skill of Adwords, the other 80% depends on the product or service you sell, as well as your skill in determining a market for that product/service. If you sell high margin products or services that are needed or wanted, it is worth it.

It also depends on your goal. If your goal is to brand your site to increase potential subscribers, it is worth it in the long term because it is a cheaper and more effective form of advertising than television/radio ads. The only problem with internet advertising is that if you have too much of a niche, it would be hard to generate traffic. This is where content network, TV and Radio ads come into play.

What do you feel about the Internet Marketing niche? I created a site that sales some services for internet marketing among other things, but just haven't had the opportunity to drive enough targeted traffic to it to see if my conversion rate is good or not.
