I have a general belief that adwords is expensive. I may be wrong in my assumption too. Please explain why adwords is expensive.
It will be expensive if you don't use relevant keywords precisely targeting your product which won't turn into sales. Using relevant keywords, it will be expensive if your conversions are not high enough. But put the two together - relevant keywords, a great ad and a great sales page - you'll turn a profit and it won't seem expensive.
I got quite a few clients made most of their profit through Adwords campaign. Even though organic searches can drive traffic to your site, but the conversation rate is much lower than ads' click throughs. The ratio for us is approximately 5:1. If you can optimize your campaign with great landing page. Google Adwords is your friend.
It all depends on which markets you are competing in. For very competitive markets, then yes this will be expensive...adwords is all about optimizing your account as time goes on...So knowing which keywords make you the most money (not the most clicks) and then increase bids/exposure on these kw's and decreasing the spend on kw's that do not produce you any money.
People may suggest that adwords is expensive because they are not generating enough return for the investment. In my experience adwords is not expensive if you are rewarded with a strong sales income. For example a few years ago I ran an Adwords campaign selling property in Spain. Cost per year was about 20K but we sold many properties over the year with average commission of 30K so you can see that adwords is only expensive if your not getting the return. A big win for me was to implement a strong set of negative keywords across my broad matched phrases. This cut out the irrelevant clicks and gave me more money to spend on my campaign.
it can be extremley expensive if you are a beginner and you don't really know how to set up your Adwords. I would suggest getting a professional to do it at first, then learn with the wealth of information that is on the internet and when you become confident try to do your own campaigns. Taz
Is AdWords Advertising expensive? Strange question, any advertising that provides a good return on investment and allows you to generate a good profit is valuable no matter what the cost. 50p for a card in a shop window that provides no return or profit is expensive £50 on AdWords that provides £500 return and a good profit ..... However, poor use of AdWords and not understanding how the system works can make CPC not only expensive but also lethal. I have seen lots of campaigns targeting the wrong keywords, with wrong bids and inappropriate landing pages. At least a card in the shop window with the wrong telephone number will only cost you 50p.
