I definitely wouldn't advise anyone that's starting out to rely solely on Adsense. I used to hear so many complain about Adsense earnings going down. Then it happened to me (despite the fact that my traffic has increased tremendously).
No its not my main source. If it is your main source of income then you are doing something wrong. You need to diversify your income so Adsense is less than 30% of your income. On some sites I don't even use Adsense. If you overly rely on one income source then your business is very unstable and could fall apart at any moment - plus you are leaving a lot of money on the table. I quit my job over a year and a half ago to live off Adsense. In the grand scheme of things though, its kinda: Adsense 75% EBay 15% TF 10% That being said though - Ebay + TF aren't enough to live on, meaning I'd have to get a job again should Adsense go pop!!
I earn not much from Adsense but the income is enough to pay for web-hosting. I think Adsense is an easy way to earn some money.
It used to, but sites change and go differnet ways. I recently started to market a new e-book i made and am try to look into different income streams because adsense is too unreliable.
Still AdSense plays a big role in my income but trying to change it i want it to be under 30% of totall income.
I suck at Adsense. I've made about $10 with it in something like a year. I keep hearing about how all these people get banned yada yada & get scared off before putting much effort into it. I do better with selling content & scripts, and "rescue work".
Its just a nice supplement and I do not solely rely on adsense. I use a mix of things such as affiliates or other ppc services.
I've been using adsense exclusively up until this point (year+). I'm doing some experimenting with Adbrite, Amazon, and Project Wonderful.
