Yes adsense is profitable _if_ you have a large number of people going to your website. Think getting unique content that people will want to go to your website

Yes, it is profitable. I have my experience with adsense. I was doing nothing only putting fresh and original content. I had been doing traditional SEO for which I was axed by penguin. So, you need to be great in the field of content writing and spam-free link building. Always try to keep pace with Google updates. You will not be unhappy.

Yes it's profitable - If you have real traffic from US,UK, Canada, etc.

No it's not - If you have traffic from Pakistan,India,China,Bangladesh etc

    That sounds suspicious!

Auto-blogging is dead, and I suspect content-curation, will be next - I hope you are not thinking of those sort of "automation tools"

I was doing good with adsense 2 years ago , some days go high as $500 per day but my sites hit by penguin and panda updates , now I cannot live on adsense earnings only anymore. I am trying to recover making new sites..

The Cents Matter!! Honestly, it's not difficult to earn the cents. I started a blogspot blog (free) and ran one magic submitter campaign on it (2 weeks ago). It's ranking 1st now and bringing me 1 dollar a day on average. Imagine if I actually build 500 of those...Bottom line is you need to be good at finding keyword phrases that have almost zero competition but high cpc.

I see in your signature that 2 of your sites are in the holiday niche

Were your sites that got hit also in the holiday niche?

Google is active in that niche, and hits sites that are treading on it's toes

If you've still got the sites, it may be possible to re-structure them and make them profitable again

Surly It's Profitable But It's Depend To Choosing Right High CPC Keyword If You Will target High CPC You Will earn More And If You are targeting Low CPC Keywords Your earnings will be little :)

I got my adsense account after Google announced the release. May be 1 month later. I should admit that profit was better in first times. However I will just complain about income on Adsense in recent weeks. I believe there are some serious problems on adsense at the moment and it's the longest problem that still continues... I have never got such a loss before. I have many sites with many niches (All of them focused on USA-CA-UK traffic) and there's a %30-%40 percent loss when I compare my current income with July, April, May, Jan, Feb income of 2015. The funny thing is my unique hits raised almost %50 for all of my sites in August and June. I have quality traffic, bounce rate is very low and %98 of visitors are coming from Google Search Engine. Almost none from social media. So there's no reason for penalty... However I heard there are many people who have similar problems, so I didn't hit panic button yet.

adsense is still profitable. It should be properly optimised to gain maximum conversion from it.

Adsense is still very profitable, you just have to continue to put up good content that people want to read and that search engines want to rank. Are there other more lucrative ways to generate an income online? Sure... but if done correctly, adsense revenue can be improved month over month and for the most part can be a hands off no strings attached type of income; AKA residual.

I can certainly tell you adsense is 'still' profitable. Not that it ever wasn't? They are always paid the highest CPC, so with good quality traffic from a good content, non spammy site, you can make a good living for sure!

AdSenseis is not profitable. Need huge traffic.
Better try affiliate programs ( CPA or Amazon or ....)

Obviously specific affiliate programs will produce more profit than Adsense, due to the fact Adsense doesn't always provide relevant ads

If your traffic is organic, then isn't anything you make on Adsense profit?

Or are you guys bringing people to your site with PPC?
