My website is a multi page website, however it's main goal is to sell my book. My objective is to lead the visitor towards my sales letter page. Therefore, I think it would be contradictory to have a visitor leave by clicking on an adsense link. What do you guys think? http://www.trafficticketsecrets.com I would never place any outside ads on the sales letter itself, but what about my articles or my news pages? If a visitor does not decide to purchase my book, I would still like to get a few cents from them when they decide to leave. My gut instinct tells me to forget about Adsense. But I'd like to get everyone's opinion too. Thanks. - Damon Dallah
Pah, seems like you want to advertise your site? I wouldn't use ads in my opinion, the money from them won't outweight the number of potential visitors lost to other products if they are willing to buy, even other ebooks. Rupert
Start up a competing site for yourself that gives some handy information on it as well as a link or three to your main site. Then you can plaster that with ads. Just be sure that the main site is outranking it in PR and SERPS *shrug* then again, with adequate sales of your book, you should not need to advertise at all accept maybe with AdWords Personally if I was selling something I'd rely on my product revenue rather then ad revenue ... no point in sending a sale to some other site.
Might as well. You don't have anything to lose. A visitor isn't likely to leave the site by clicking on an ad. If their attention span is that short, then they probably weren't going to buy your book in the first place.
Yes, in your case you should not use Google AdSense. You want the visitors to concentrate on your site, not to go away.
I would definitely avoid putting any ads on your site. If I went onto a site that was selling a book, and saw that they had adsense (or any other ideas for that matter), I would automatically think that the author does not have confidence in his book..and that he clearly doesn't believe its going to sell many copies, and that he has to try to make money elsewhere. If not for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it for the mere fact that, like you said, you would be sending potential customers off of your website, when your main goal is to be getting them to the checkout page.
