Anywhere you go and visit a website you can see this ads somewhere else, right? Have it cross your mind that these ads making your domain cheap on the other hand? Yes it is true that you can make money on them, but it cheapens the site a bit. Why not just find and just stick with ads for products, both yours and other people's? you're right but most people are still using adsense because (at least for me) : 1. They don't have their own product to sell. 2. They can't find any product that convert well. 3. It's making money.
That's the idea anyways and I must agree with you that its about making money online. But any case, if you happen to have an offer to promote their ads in your site with pay then that's the promising part and consistent earning indeed.
I don't think it cheapens the site at all, in fact, I think it makes it more valuable to those who would be interested in buying it!
