Is Acquiring Google AdWords Certification still Worth?

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by ashokpatidar, Aug 12, 2013.

I regularly manage and optimize Google AdWords Campaigns for my clients. I have 2+ year of experience in search engine marketing.

I have been heard a lot about AdWords Certification and literally, interested in taking it. I am a bit confused over its value.

I have seen many people saying that It has lost it’s appeal. Since it’s a bit challenging and cost you $100 for 2 tests, does it really worth to take this certification?

First of if you are managing AdWords already and have a MCC account I suggest joining Google Engage first and then you can get free vouchers to take the certification exams. I see a couple of benefits to being certified. 1. the badge you get for your own webpage gives you some credibility and 2. You can be found in the Google Certified Partners listing which can get you more business. Usually, I would suggest the exams to encourage people to learn more about using AdWords but it sounds like you already know how to use it so I would get certified for the first 2 reasons.

Interesting. The benefits you have described above are something what I am also eyeing. I am really excited to take this exam.

Although, I do not manage any MCC account right now. Am I still eligible to take part in Google Engage program?

It all depends on your reasoning for wanting to get it..

If you're dealing with clients and want to obtain more clients, it couldn't hurt.. anything to set you apart from the competition.. :)

    Thanks for your reply.

I have visited your website and it looks really good. However, I want to take this exam at my own and this is how it will make me a good AdWords Professional. :)

For me, as I was experienced when first time tried - I needed to fail 5 times, and couple weeks of learning every question until I passed 1 exam. So if anyone finds it too hard - let me know, ill do it in 20 mins ;)

Whoa! It would have cost you almost $500. This is Buck up or stay in the truck. By the way, how can you take exam, for example, on behalf of me. Wouldn't Google trace it and ban us??

I think it's definitely worth becoming Google AdWords Certified as it differentiates you from non-qualified AdWords people.
The exams are getting harder in my opinion but providing you keep up to date with AdWords changes and manage client campaigns then you should be able to pass.
The exams are quite tricky so be careful as you answer the questions.
    Good luck.

Update: Finally, I have cleared the exam in just one attempt. It was a good experience. Although, the exam is now free, but it's trickiest and challenging pattern makes it still worth to take. Filling Accomplished. Thanks friends for your help. :)
