I've had some links on wikipedia.org and you can get a nice trickle of traffic if they are on a popular page. And although they are "nofollow" it's still just a nice place to be linked from.

    I do all the time...

I'm often looking for the wiki page, so I'll search "Widget Wiki" so it shows up #1. I could of course go to www.wikipedia.org and then use their search but I think it's faster to just do it in google.com

I hate that they nofollow their outbound links... I think it's BS. But I do think it's a great site. I love it.

You'll definitely get traffic from them. No seo, but traffic is good. As others said, you need to make sure it is relevant, otherwise it'll probably be kicked out rather quickly. But if it is relevant, thats an excellent and constant traffic source. A number of my articles are linked from wiki, so I know it for sure ;)

It's likely wise to not just add a link as well. That just reeks of spam. Actually contribute to the articles you are adding too. it may be nice to add something to a few other articles you have a personal interest in. This will make Wiki better, and will likely make it seem like you are there for more reasons then adding a link.

Put the community first, wikipedia second, and then squeeze in a link someplace in the middle. That'll help to ensure the success of any linkage. Place your link on the top of your priority and there will be a good chance someone putting the community and wiki first will come in and delete your link.

some traffic, some respect, and bragging rights is what you get. its a decent achievement to be on wiki.

as the other guys have mentioned, wiki links always show up on the first page of a search, some traffic is going to get diverted to you and thats targeted traffic.

I've been thinking of putting up a wiki article about my website. Right now I'm not so sure if it's feasible.

Getting more qualified traffic of course should be the main objective of link building campaign.

Think of getting a back link from a site which uses NOFOLLOW tag but has traffic of 1000 visitors per day!!! Even 10% of the traffic share would make you happy.

As a rule good back link helps you improve the page rank of your website. However, a real good back link would improve the traffic too!! You already have an example of wikipedia. Tell me if you have any other sites which would not pass it's link juice but send good qualified traffic.
