is a text link better than a banner?

    Would a plain text link be better than an image banner link for giving a website better rankings?

    Yes, to get ranking, you have to use the text people would use to find your website - so if you sell a villa in Turkey, for someone to find it they probably would use 'villa for rent in Turkey' or something along them lines.

    its the same as link, but not the same if you want to get link popularity for one keyword
