I just uploaded my new website to google. Before I work on a sitemap, I was wondering if you could take a look and see if I require a sitemap. Google has not yet indexed my site. Also, do sitemaps even have any SEO benefit besides making google aware of your webpages? Would adding a sitemap to my website give me any advantage in the ranking or location of the website on google search. Thank you! Kind Regards, BarnyardSEO
No, will not help at all. Some of my websites got over 100k pages, fully indexed, never submitted any sitemap. You got like 4 pages. It also does not helps in search rankings at all. More or less, its simply a way to tell google about your deep linked pages which are not easily accessible, and to tell google when the page has changed so that google can reindex it. Basically, google did this so that they can reduce load on their indexing bots by not re-crawling pages which never get updated.
It will not help. As long as the home page has a link to the other pages, Google will index all of them.
Don't waste your time. As long as one has a well-linked site, a site map is not needed. My website has over 14,000 searchable static pages, some of which get updated hundreds of times per year. I never had a sitemap until I passed 9,000 pages. Even though I now have a sitemap, I SEE NO DIFFERENCE IN HOW GOOGLE INDEXES IT.
hello I have a question for well-linked site how can I know my website have well-linked site? if the linked site is bad , how will affect my website?
