Is a PHPBB forum is a good ADSENSE-ing machine?

HI! I want to start our school's forum.

I don't want to purchase vBulleting license or even use nulled ones.

I used PHPBB and applied Modifications.

I just want to know, if somebody here at DP had good revenue in phpbb for using in earning forum

I like the best option to have been SMF (Simple Machines Forum).

You can use the modules, to install a adsense plugin.

yes, you can use smf forum, it is best.but don't use the beta version, it has no good templates & mods. Now i am using beta, i made a great mistake.

 

phpbb is OK, but Vbulletin is worth the money any day

 

FYI,earning from adsense and using phpbb forum script is 2 kind of thing.
The kind of script will not affect your earning.
What is important is the traffic you get,coz your adsense earning is depend on the traffic you get not the kind of script you use.

 

Except that it is total pig vomit. Never understand why people pay for that garbage. And yes, I have large forums (one with over 250.000 members) running on SMF; we ran vB before but it is of an rancid quality which I cannot even describe. The people that made that stuff cannot even be called programmers; a room full of monkeys would do a better job.

Go for SMF.

 

I have 2 phpBB forums and with good traffic adsense can be good you could also use something else like Adbrite,i am looking at setting up another forum using the SMF platform as this does look a reliable script.

 

It depends upon your NICHE! it gives great earnings on Hi-Paying keywords

Basically, a niche is the topic or genre. So, for instance, the first link in your signature would be in the 'proxy' niche, or, to put it into real life terms, 'Star Wars' is in the 'Sci-fi' niche. Hope that helped

It depends in the atmosphere of the forum if they have guts or will to click my ads.

MeniacMachine, if your final goal are Adsense earnings, then you should rather concentrate on content than on the software itself. phpBB could do just as good as a html based website, if you own high quality content that Google likes.

As far as vB being a "garbage", I have strong doubts that you can stand for your words, Kwaku.

 

Concentrate on content...forums don't usually do that though - so don't think you'll make a profit for a while, if ever. Maybe use a facebook-like script?

 

Meaning? I find it crap. I have been programming for 25 years they should be ashamed selling that kind of stuff. If it were free it would be fine, but asking money for it is too funny. But he, people pay for fart ringtones and Iphone fart apps, so apparently they have the money to spend.

 

Prompt support does matter to some who prefer to pay in order to receive it. Can't compare it to buying funny ringtones.
