Ive been adding a phone number in all my blogs --- I use wordpress platform - can any one insight if Google likes or dislikes phone number in URI meta tag - especially inside a wp blog meta tag???? - WHATS YOURE TAKE?
There are a few views on this and I would like to share 2 with you here: 1. Feel free to add your phone number into the title tag as you shouldn't be penalised for it at all. 2. Don't do it because your title tag should only be 55 - 65 characters long, why waste them with a number? Personally I would say use keywords in your title tag but make sure that your phone number is visible from the second people click onto your site.
I somewhat agree with that inclusion - however I did include my phone number on the home page making it very visible on the landing page - however the main reason I added my phone number into the title meta-tag tag - was for lazy clients and possible customers looking for a remodeling contractor in Honolulu Hawaii - vice versa I totally understand your insight - hopefully the reality of being penalized will not be confronted - ------------- you know how web searchers work online - as soon as they see a phone number especially on the Google impressions they dial it right away - it's just one conclusion I've been targeting over the past two years or so --------------- however I know search engine algorithms are changing dramatically - and the Google maps are using phone numbers to target clients and customers for their own use --------------- you could call that greedy -------------------------
There is some anecdotal evidence that including the phone number in your title tag can help with Google local listings. I see no downside to including the phone number as long as it does not hinder you from putting your other keywords in there. Also, having the phone number show up in the title of your search rankings is always a plus.
There is obviously no downside to adding a number in the TITLE. However I just wouldn't do it and would rather focus on promoting other keywords in the title tag. I don't see as to how a phone number would help boost your rankings...
After years of branding my construction business on Google - I always to head in phone number show up in the title of your search rankings is always a plus........ and also agree to ((((adding phone number as long as it does not hinder from putting your other keywords first for seo________))))))) it is a tough decision - either branding for contacts or labeling for search engine's ------- I honestly believe many top search engine optimizers must come up with a grand scheme to please their customers......... in this financial economy what we have to lose ................. I think that's the most important decision overall ..............
The phone number can help your rankings by helping the search engines clearly match up your website with your business listing. This alone will not solve all of the business matching issues, but it could help. As others have mentioned, I would not make this the main focus or primary part of your title tag, but it is something to consider if you are trying to rank in the local listings.
That's not a good idea dear. It doesn't suits a Blog however there is not a problem with that but it will not impress the readers..
