Domain names with .org extension are not worth nearly as much as they used to be.

The only extensions, from my experience, that are still presumed more valuable are .edu and .gov extensions.

    Good luck getting those. :)

a .com is better then a .org in terms of domains.

But yes the final value depends on the traffic, quality of the site, backlinks, PR etc.

From my experience, the general consensus amongst typical web surfers is that they would usually assume all domain names end with a .com and not with a .net or a .org . I believe it is sort of a mindset that would take some time to break. With that said, the .com is more valuable a domain name.

In the past, you need to prove that you are an Organization to register a .org but it appears that that is no longer the case.

No, I'd place the price of the link as being the same all other things being equal.

    Shortly, no.

If you would like a longer answer to your question, definately not.

It all depends on the content of your site. The majority of people will not differenciate between .com and .org for links. If the traffic is more apt on the .org for them, they would put a higher value on the .org link.
